NEW DELHI: The Chandigarh Department of Education has revised the schedule for the Junior Basic Teacher (JBT) recruitment exam 2024. As per the official notice, the Chandigarh JBT exam will now be conducted on April 28. The candidates will be able to download the admit card from April 23 to 26.
Earlier, the Chandigarh JBT exam 2024 was scheduled to be held on March 4, which has been extended now. The Chandigarh JBT 2024 registration process was also extended by the education department from February 19 to February 29.
The Chandigarh JBT exam authority will issue the provisional answer key on April 30, 2024. Candidates will be able to raise objections against the Chandigarh JBT exam provisional answer key by June 2, 2024.
The recruitment drive aims to recruit a total of 396 junior basic teacher posts. Among these, 179 positions are designated for candidates in the general category, 94 positions for other backward classes (OBC), 84 positions for scheduled caste (SC), and 39 positions for economically weaker section (EWS) candidates.
The selection process of the Chandigarh JBT Teacher recruitment process included a written test and document verification. The selected candidates will receive a pay matrix of Rs 9,300 to 34,800 with grade pay of Rs 4,200.

Age limit: The candidate’s age should be between 21 years old to 37 years old. Candidates from reserved categories will get an age relaxation as per the rule.
Education qualification:
Candidates should have completed graduate or its equivalent from a recognised university.
Candidates should have completed a Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) 2-year course recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
Candidates should have passed the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).

The Chandigarh JBT exam 2024 carries 150 questions carrying one mark each. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The duration of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes. Candidates will have to score a minimum of 40% marks to qualify for the exam. The subject-wise question distribution is given in the table below.
