CISCE academic session 2021-22 to begin in March; Exam dates to be out soon

NEW DELHI: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has clarified all the queries from the heads of schools regarding the start of academic session 2021-22. The council said that the beginning of the new academic year in schools shall be from the middle of March and the first week of June.

The council has clearly said in a notification that the exams will not take place as per their usual schedule in February/March due to the pandemic situation and the upcoming elections in five states. The exam dates will be decided later and the schedule will be released on the official website, at an appropriate time.

For the academic session, the council has decided that the start of the new session will remain as it was in the previous years.

The queries regarding the start of academic session have probably been raised since Class 10 and 12 exams dates have not been finalized yet. Please be informed that the two matters are unrelated, said the council in the circular sent by CISCE to all school principals on Thursday.

Schools should refer to the ‘Regulations and syllabuses, the Year 2022, Chapter I, ‘B’, which states: “Academic Year- The beginning of the academic year in schools affiliated to the council shall be from the middle of March and the first week of June each year. However, the hill Schools may begin the academic year from February each year”

The notification further says, “ The Head of schools are requested to please adhere to the same. This must be maintained to ensure the uniformity and parity across all CISCE affiliated schools in India and abroad”
