ICSE Board has provided this option to all the students in India and abroad. The students have an option to sit in the pending CISCE board exams 2020, to be conducted from July 1 to 14. Else, students can opt-out to appear for exams. In such a case, the result will be prepared on the basis of the student’s performance in the pre-board exam / internal assessment and already conducted board examinations.
According to Gerry Arathoon, Chief Executive and Secretary, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), the students will have to communicate their option to their respective schools by June 22. The exams which were postponed due to the lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus, are now scheduled to be conducted from July 1 to 14. However, several parents have been demanding the exams be scrapped.
All the affiliated schools have to intimate the same to the board. However, students can change their choice before the commencement of the CISCE board exams 2020.
Arathoon further added, "The students will be given two options, they either appear for the rescheduled exams or choose to have their results based on their performance in the pre-board exams or internal assessment. The option will be available only for the pending exams, the result of the subjects for which exams were already conducted, will be calculated as per performance in the exam only,".
On May 22, CISCE released the revised board exams dates for Class 10 and 12 pending examinations. The remaining exams of Class 10 will be conducted from July 2 to July 12, 2020. Whereas the remaining exams of Class 12 are to be conducted from July 1 to July 14, 2020.
