NEW DELHI : The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2022 is scheduled to be held on June 19, 2022 for both UG and PG courses. Candidates have around two months left for the CLAT 2022 exam. Hence, it is very important to cover the CLAT syllabus 2022 and give more focus on the CLAT important topics. The CLAT preparation in the last two months should revolve around revising the important topics and solve as many sample papers as possible.

CLAT 2022 will have questions from the following five sections;

  1. English language (28 - 32 questions)

  2. Current affairs including general knowledge (35 - 39 questions)

  3. Quantitative aptitude (13 - 17 questions)

  4. Legal reasoning (35 - 39 questions)

  5. Logical reasoning (28-32 questions)

From each section, around six to seven comprehension based passages will be given. Candidates will have to read these passages and answer the questions. The comprehension passages will be drawn from the topics covered in the CLAT syllabus. Some of the important topics for CLAT preparation are given below.

Important topics for General Knowledge and current affairs for CLAT 2022

The awareness of past and present events of India and the world are evaluated in this section. Some of the important topics to prepare for general knowledge and current affairs are:

  • Contemporary events of significance from India and the world.

  • The primary arts and culture of India and the world such as dance forms of India, music, instrumentalist, vocalist, theater etc.

  • Awareness about world leaders, lawyers etc.

  • Historical events of continuing significance

Important topics in legal reasoning for CLAT 2022

In this section it is not important for candidates to have prior legal knowledge. Instead they should be aware of contemporary legal issues. Important topics to be covered here are:

  • Legal terminology consisting of legal terms and their meanings

  • Solving of legal comprehensions where you will get passages with multiple questions

  • General awareness of contemporary legal and moral issues

Logical reasoning topics for CLAT 2022

During CLAT 2022 preparation, the candidates should to focus on the following logical reasoning topics:

  • Logical sequences

  • Analogies

  • Relationships

  • Arguments and conclusions

Important topics in English for CLAT 2022

In this section candidates need to work on on the given topics:

  • Reading comprehension (there will be multiple questions for comprehension passage hence candidates need to improve their reading speed).

  • Sentence completion and correction

  • Spelling errors

  • Proverbs and adverbs

  • Synonyms and antonyms

  • Idioms and phrases

  • Vocabulary and word meanings

Topics in Quantitative aptitude in CLAT 2022

In this section the questions consist of a short set of facts. Candidates need to calculate the data and information in short sets and then attempt the questions. The difficulty level of questions here are of class 10 level. Some of the important topics for CLAT maths are given below:

  • Ratios and proportions

  • Profit and loss

  • Basic algebra

  • Mensuration

  • Statistics

  • Mensuration

  • Time and work
