NEW DELHI: The Consortium of National Law Universities(NLUs) has released the CLAT 2023 exam instructions for candidates appearing in the exam. CLAT 2023 is scheduled to be conducted on December 18, 2022. CLAT exam instructions include bell timings, code of conduct, marking scheme and guidelines for attempting the question paper.

CLAT 2023 admit card have already been released. Candidates can give the admission preferences to national law universities (NLUs) and download the admit card from the official website of consortium - consortiumofnlusc.ac.in.
Time | Type of bell | Bell purpose |
1:00 pm | Long Bell | Entry of candidates inside the test centre premises |
1:30 pm | Long Bell | Candidates can enter the exam hall |
1:50 pm | Short Bell | Distribution of the sealed envelopes and announcement of instructions by the invigilators |
2:00 pm | Long Bell | Commencement of the test. |
2:15 pm | Short Bell | No candidate will be allowed to enter the test centre after this time |
3:00 pm | Short Bell | Marks the completion of 60 (sixty) minutes of the test |
3:50 pm | Short Bell | Warning bell to indicate that 10 (ten) minutes are remaining for the test to end |
4:00 pm | Long Bell | Marks the completion of the test. No candidate will be allowed to write anything on the omr response sheet/ question booklet after this bell |

The CLAT UG 2023 question paper will comprise of 150 questions. Every right answer secures one mark. While every wrong answer results in the deduction of 0.25 marks. There will be no deduction for unanswered questions.
Candidates will be permitted to enter the test centre from 1:00 pm. onwards and are to be seated at their respective seats by 1:30 pm.
Once a candidate has entered the exam hall he will not be permitted to leave the exam hall before 4 pm
Candidates who arrive after 2:15 pm will not be permitted to appear for the examination.
The CLAT 2023 exam is for a duration of two hours and will commence sharp at 2:00 pm. Candidats reporting after 2 pm to 2:15 pm will not get additional time for attempting the question paper.
Candidates are not allowed to use the washroom after they enter the exam hall.
In case of any medical issues, candidates should inform their Invigilators before starting the test.
After the completion of the test, candidates can retain the question paper, OMR sheet copy and CLAT admit card duly signed by the invigilator. The answer key of CLAT 2023 will be released soon after the completion of the test.
