NEW DELHI: There are 23 national law universities (NLUs) in India. Out of these, 22 NLU will accept the scores of Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2023, scheduled to be held on December 18, in offline mode. NLU Delhi is the only university that conducts a separate law entrance exam, popularly known as All India Law Entrance Test (AILET).

The national-level law entrance exam, CLAT 2023 will be used for admission to the 5-year LLB and LLM programmes offered by 22 national law universities across the country. Over 60 affiliated law colleges and universities will also accept CLAT scores for admission to various law programmes.

All 22 NLUs offer undergraduate 5-year LLB programmes. Whereas, around 19 NLUs offer LLM programmes through CLAT exam. The list of 22 NLUs is given below.

The NLUs will offer over 2,800 seats in 5-year integrated LLB programmes and over 1,100 seats in LLM programmes. Candidates should note that almost all NLUs participating in CLAT 2023 offer domicile reservations. Besides, each university has its own reservation policy to offer seats under various categories.

CLAT 2023 registration will be closed on November 13, 2022. Candidates who wish to appear in the examination must register and complete the application process before the deadline.
Candidates should refer to the previous year's cutoff of the university to get an idea about the expected cutoff for each NLU this year

Candidates who succeed in CLAT exam will have to appear for the centalized counselling failing which they will not be considered for admissions.
