NEW DELHI: The application form for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2023 will open tomorrow, August 08, 2022. Eligible candidates who wish to appear for CLAT 2023 must register and submit their application form before the deadline. The CLAT 2023 exam will be held on December 18, 2022, in offline, pen and paper mode.

CLAT is a national-level law entrance exam conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) for admission to 5-year LLB and LLM programmes. The CLAT scores are accepted by 22 national law universities and over 60 law colleges across the country.
Candidates applying for UG-CLAT 2023 should have passed Class 12 from a recognized board with at least 45% marks (40% in the case of SC and ST candidates). Whereas, candidates who want to apply for CLAT LLM should have completed LLB graduation (3-year LLB or 5-year LLB) from a recognized university, with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% in case of SC and ST candidates).
Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply for CLAT 2023. Further, there is no age restriction for appearing in CLAT 2023.

Fill the application form by providing personal information, educational details, communication details and test centre preferences
Submit the application form and complete the fee payment.
To complete the application process, candidates need to submit the registration fee in online mode. CLAT 2023 registration fee is Rs. 4,000 for general category candidates and Rs. 3,500 for SC and ST candidates.
The offline-based CLAT 2023 will be held in over 130 exam centres across the country. CLAT exam will test the critical thinking, logical and analytical skills of the candidates necessary for the study of law. The UG CLAT will have around 28 to 30 comprehension passages and 150 questions, divided into five sections as mentioned below.

CLAT LLM will be a graduate-level test. Candidates are expected to have the knowledge and awareness of common subjects of the LLB programme. There will be 120 objective-type questions in CLAT LLM on subjects such as Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Law of Contract, Torts, Family Law, Criminal Law and others.
