The candidate who obtained All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the Common Law Admission Test - Postgraduate (CLAT PG) 2025 has secured admission in Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU) Lucknow. The Consortium of National Law Universities has issued CLAT PG first allotment list 2025 on the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

As per CLAT PG counselling 2025 schedule, students can pay the seat confirmation fee and exercise freeze and float options between June 17 and June 20.

CLAT PG Counselling 2025: What after seat allotment?

Each candidate who has been allotted a seat at any NLU may exercise ‘freeze’, ‘float’, or ‘exit’ options as follows:

Freeze: If the candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat, accepts it, and is not interested in participating in further rounds of counselling may ‘freeze’ the seat allocation.

Float: If the candidate has not been allotted their first preference and chooses to leave ‘open’ the possibility of getting a higher preference of NLU seat, they may choose the ‘Float’ Option.

Under the foat option, the candidate may hold the seat allotted to them, and if they are allotted a higher preference seat in a subsequent counselling round, they shall move to it. If moved to a more preferred NLU, they can not go back to the previously allotted NLU.

Exit: If a candidate does not want to participate in the counselling process, they may choose to ‘Exit’. If a candidate has chosen a float or freeze option prior to the exit option, the seat allocated to them will be reallocated to some other candidate and the confirmation fee will be forfeited. No candidate will be allotted a seat after choosing the exit option.

In order to ‘freeze’ or ‘float’ their seats, applicants must pay the non-refundable confirmation fee of Rs 20,000. They will also have to pay the university fee to the NLU by June 30. Those who select the freeze option and make fee payment will not be considered for further rounds of counselling.
