NEW DELHI, JANUARY 28: National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2019 on January 28 in two shifts, 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM across the country at around 73 cities. The exam at all Jammu centres has been cancelled reportedly due to inclement weather. Candidates of Kashmir region who are allocated in Jammu centres will appear for the exam on Tuesday, January 29. Around 64,000 management aspirants are appearing for the computer-based national-level MBA entrance test. The result of the exam will be announced on or before February 8, 2019, on the official website of NTA.
NTA is expected to release the answer key along with the question paper after the test is conducted (in the last week of January) in the form of a PDF file. With the help of the key, candidates would be able to check the official answers to calculate their estimated scores much before the announcement of the actual result. To download the key, candidates would need to login to the official website with their login credentials.
NTA will also allow the candidates to file objections against the answer key if they are not satisfied with the answer key within the stipulated date and time. The processing charge for filing an objection is Rs. 1000 per question. The same can be paid via debit card/credit card/net banking.
CMAT participating institutes will release their cutoffs now to shortlist the candidates for the selection rounds. Candidates who qualify the cutoff will be called for the admission process which usually includes GD, PI and Writing Test (WAT).
Just like the previous year, the exam was divided into four sections - Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, and General Awareness. Each section had 25 questions and the duration of the test was 3 hours (180 minutes). The marking scheme has remained the same this year as well. Each correct answer will get 4 marks and an incorrect response will deduct 1 mark.
CMAT is a national-level management entrance test conducted for MBA/PGDM admissions to more than 500 B-schools across the country. Until last year, AICTE was conducting the test. From this year onwards, NTA is the official conducting body for the exam.
