The NTA will determine the CMAT percentile out of 400 marks based on the options exercised by candidates. Whether a candidate has opted for the fifth section or not, namely ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship’, the final CMAT percentile cutoff is calculated out of 400 marks while the last section is to remain as the qualifying one.
Percentile P = 100 x Number of candidates appeared in the examination with raw marks equal to or less than the candidate/ Total number of candidates appeared.
For example, if about 10,000 candidates appeared in CMAT and a candidate scored the highest marks (350/400). Since they have scored the highest in the exam, their rank will be number 1 and the CMAT percentile score will be: 100 x 9999/10,000= 99.99
CMAT rank can also be calculated with the below-given formula:
10,000 - 1/10,000 x 100 = 99.99.
The NTA has already released the CMAT 2021 answer key giving the opportunity to candidates to calculate their CMAT 2021 score and arrive at the CMAT 2021 percentile overall and section-wise. The expected CMAT score range that would be able to arrive at the respective percentile for MBA admission is as mentioned below:
