COAP 2020 Registration for IIT M.Tech Admission to start soon, Counselling schedule released

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has opened the COAP 2020 portal. The registration process for COAP 2020 will soon start as the result of GATE has already been announced on March 13. IIT Madras, which is the organising institute of COAP 2020 has also released the detailed schedule for counselling. COAP 2020 will have 5 rounds of offers between May 13 to June 11 with additional rounds A, B, C and D from June 17 to July 8.

Students aspiring for M.Tech admission in IITs have to register for Common Offer Acceptance Portal, commonly known as COAP. Students also need to apply to the respective institute in which admission is desired as COAP is only the platform where students sees his admission offers from the institutes in which he/she has applied for admission.

Only those candidates who have qualified in GATE 2020/2019/2018 and wish to apply for M.Tech. admission in any of the participating institutes / PSUs job offers are eligible to register at COAP 2020. After successful completion of registration at COAP, a candidate will be able to access information on offers made by the participating Institutes. Offers will be uploaded by the participating Institutes / PSUs at COAP.

COAP provides a common platform for a candidate to make the most preferred choice for admission into an M.Tech. Programme in the participating academic institutes. COAP is not a portal for applying for M.Tech. Admission. The candidate should apply separately to the respective Institute for M.Tech. Admission. Admission offers will be uploaded by the participating Institutes in a common time window on COAP. Each participating Institute will follow the selection procedure as per the norms and guidelines of the respective Institute. Only participating Institutes will upload their offers in COAP. To access and make a decision on the most preferred choice out of the offers made by participating Institutes, each candidate should register and visit COAP.
