On Campus

Approximately 5,500 of the 7,906 eligible voters cast their ballots across 17 campus centres. Polling, held in two sessions from 9 am to 1 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, was mostly peaceful, though delays occurred at the School of Language centre due to missing names on the ballot.

A clash near Gate No. 7 of the university left five to six students injured after a student from Mewat was allegedly assaulted, prompting retaliation. All injured were treated at MA Ansari Health Centre and later discharged.

East Khasi Hills SP said police have received an FIR from the teacher and a case will be registered. The teacher has urged police to act and ensure his safety on campus. Varsity teachers have condemned the attack.

ABVP sources said the accused, a computer science student, posted abusive and derogatory remarks on Facebook targeting individuals, including ABVP members, over their stance on the Pahalgam terror attack.
