Colleges, schools for Classes 9, 11 to open from Feb 2: Sisodia

NEW DELHI: Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, on Friday, said that schools for Classes 9 and 11 will reopen from February 2 for practical and project work. Colleges and polytechnics will also be allowed to open for practical and project work from February 2.

Manish Sisodia, during the press conference, said: “We were getting multiple requests from parents, colleges and polytechnics to reopen schools to complete their practical and project works. The government has decided to reopen schools for Classes 9 and 11 for practical and project work, similar to Classes 10 and 12, from February 5.”

“Colleges and polytechnics will also be allowed to reopen. Any government, aided or private school can reopen schools for Classes 9 to 12,” he added.

Delhi schools reopen

The minister also said that 80% students are attending schools for Classes 10 and12.

Schools and colleges will have to follow the COVID-19 protocols similar to those issued for Classes 10 and 12, Sisodia said. The minister also said that students will have to have parental permission to attend classes.
