Cornell University Tata Scholarship to offer USD 25 million aid to class 12 Indian students for UG courses

The scholarship provides an annual grant of USD 25 million to support 20 Indian students for the UG admissions at Cornell University.
Cornell University, in collaboration with the Tata Group will provide financial assistance through the Cornell University Tata Scholarship to class 12 Indian students applying for various undergraduate (UG) programmes, as reported by the Indian Express.
The scholarship provides an annual grant of USD 25 million to support 20 Indian students for the UG admissions at Cornell University.
The grant is valid to select programmes, including college of architecture art and planning; college of engineering; applied economics and management major in the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business; and majors across colleges in the biology sciences, physical sciences, and other sciences.
The Cornell University Tata Scholarship covers tuition fees, room and board, books and supplies, and personal expenses for Indian students.
The scholarship is valid for four years (eight semesters) for UG courses. However, students need to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 to continue receiving support. For programmes that require ten semesters, such as the Bachelor of Architecture (BArch), funding is provided for up to eight semesters only.
Cornell University Tata Scholarship: Eligibility, application process
To be eligible for the scholarships, students must be Indian citizens with a valid passport. Preference will be given to students who have completed their secondary education in India.
Students must apply for full-time undergraduate admission at Cornell University’s Ithaca campus. This includes first-year applicants, direct transfers, and visiting undergraduates. International students from India must achieve an IELTS score of 7.5 or higher to qualify for the scholarship and UG admission at Cornell University.
As part of the admission process, university faculty will conduct a comprehensive evaluation, considering applicants’ academic achievements, essays, recommendations, and extracurricular involvement.
The Cornell Financial Aid Office will also review each students' CSS profile, International Student Financial Aid Application (ISFAA), and all supporting financial documents to determine scholarship eligibility.
