NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, will resume the semester on July 6 after a "phased entry" into the campus.
This announcement, reported by IIT Delhi's Board for Student Publications , was made by the director, Ramgopal Rao, during a YouTube session with students on Saturday.
Like every educational institution, IIT Delhi's regular academic schedule was interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic. It suspended classes and directed students to leave the campus in March.
Another fallout of the COVID-19 crisis has been recruiters withdrawing job offers from graduating students. According to the board's report published on Facebook, nine students had their offers taken away.
Rao told students that IIT Delhi will hold a "special recruitment session" in June-July.
New schedule
IIT Delhi's summer vacations will run from April 24 to June 28.
However, final-year students and those working on projects are expected to return to campus by the middle of June and all presentations and "major exams" are to be completed by August 1, 2020 and results declared by the second week of the month.
They will have two-three weeks of on-campus education working six days in a week.
The institute's administration will decide on student activities such as festivals and competitions later.
