NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has allowed students to change their choice of exam centre city for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2020.
The human resource development minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' said on social media that he has received many suggestions regarding conduct of examinations during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic including students’ requests for change of exam centres and he has directed NTA to consider the request.
In view of the ongoing COVID-19 situation in the country, NTA has expanded the scope of the correction window, generally limited to making changes in particulars like name, fathers’ name and other such details. Candidates will now be able to make changes to choice of exam centre as well.
The NTA is making efforts to allot the centre of choice to the students, subject to its availability.
The correction facility is now active and candidates can make the necessary changes on the website https://jeemain.nta.nic .
The last date to make changes in choice of exam centre is April 14.

Careers360 was the first to report on the demand for change of exam centres for both the JEE for engineering as well as National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, or NEET, for medicine. Candidates were either stuck at home when their exam centres were in cities where they had been attending coaching for the exams or the other way around. Every year, thousands move to coaching hubs such as Kota in Rajasthan to prepare for the entrance tests.
The NTA, however, has not changed yet allowed change of exam centre NEET 2020.
