NEW DELHI:
Bringing relief to candidates who will write the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for undergraduate programmes in medicine, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has allowed students to change their choice of city for the examination. Candidates have till April 14 to make the corrections and changes.
Just like it did for the Joint Entrance Examination for engineering, or JEE Main 2020, earlier this week, the NTA has decided to further expand the scope of making corrections in the NEET (UG)-2020 application forms allowing students to also alter their choice of city for exam centre. Students were asking for permission to change exam centres due to the chaos brought on by the coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown imposed to control the spread of the disease it causes, COVID-19.
The NTA has issued a public notice stating that the correction window will be open till 5 pm of April 14. the notice reads: “In view of the hardships faced by the aspirants of NEET(UG) -2020 due to COVID-19 epidemic, the NTA has further expanded the scope of making corrections in the Application Form. The scope now also include changes in the choice of cities for centres opted by the candidate.”
The test conducting body has said that it will make efforts to allocate city to candidates based on the preference of their choices opted by them in their application form.
