CSAB 2023: Know what NIT+ system is; how it is different from JoSAA counselling

Try NowNEW DELHI: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) are the counselling conducting bodies for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and other institutions. JoSAA administers counselling for IIT admission and for NIT+ system in NIT and IIIT, while CSAB is responsible for the counselling for the NIT+ system only.
While seat allocation through JoSAA would be held in several rounds, generally six, CSAB will conduct two special vacant seats filling rounds for the NIT+ system.
The registration for JoSAA is underway and will continue till June 28, 2023.

The JoSAA counselling official website is josaa.nic.in. For details on seat allocation process against the NIT+ system through special rounds, applicants will have to check the CSAB-2023 portal -- csab.nic.in.
CSAB 2023 NEUT, Special Round, CSAB Supernumerary Round
“Reservation of seats in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy courses conducted at Degree Level Technical Institutions (AICTE approved) for the candidates of North Eastern States and Union Territories (CSAB-NEUT-2023) starts from June 26, 2023,” reads a statement on the CSAB website.
Two special rounds of seat allocation are also conducted by CSAB to allocate the unfilled seats of the NIT+ System after the JoSAA Round 6 counselling. The CSAB Special Rounds will be conducted by NIT Rourkela through the online portal of CSAB -- csab.nic.in.
CSAB 2023 will conduct a separate CSAB Supernumerary round of counseling on the basis of the JEE Main rank, for admission to supernumerary seats in NIT Calicut, NIT Durgapur and SVNIT Surat for candidates belonging to Union Territories of Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. CSAB Supernumerary round will start after the completion of CSAB Special Rounds.
