NTA opens CSIR UGC NET December 2026 application window at csirnet.nta.nic.in. The exam is scheduled for December 19, 22, 27.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced the registration process for the Joint Council of Scientific and Industrial Research - University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (CSIR-UGC NET) December 2026 examination. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the official CSIR-UGC NET website, csirnet.nta.nic.in, before November 5, 2026, up to 11:50 pm.
NTA conducts the Joint CSIR-UGC NET examination to determine eligibility for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and appointment as Assistant Professor, appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD programmes, and admission to PhD only in Indian universities and colleges.

- Last date to submit the Joint CSIR-UGC NET application form - November 5.
- The last date for fee payment – November 5, up to 11:50 pm.
- Registration window with late fee - November 6 to November 9.
- The last date for payment of the application fee with the late fee - November 9, up to 11:50 pm.
- application correction window – November 10 to November 12, up to 11:50 pm.
CSIR UGC NET December 2026: Steps to apply
The below steps will help candidates to complete the CSIR NET registration and application process.
- Visit the official CSIR NET website, csirnet.nta.nic.in.
- Click on the CSIR UGC NET December 2026 registration/application link.
- Complete the registration process and create login credentials.
- Log in and fill out the CSIR UGC NET application form with the required details.
- Upload the required documents, photograph and signature.
- Pay the application fee through the available online payment modes.
- Review the application form carefully and submit it.
- Download and take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.

Joint CSIR UGC NET December 2026 exam date
The Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted on December 19, 22 and 27, 2026. The exam will be held in computer-based test (CBT) mode.
The examination will be conducted for 180 minutes, or three hours. The first shift will be held from 9 am to noon, while the second shift will be conducted from 3 pm to 6 pm. The examination will be held in English and Hindi.
The examination city and admit card release dates will be announced separately on the official website.
Candidates must rely only on csirnet.nta.nic.in for application or exam related information
