CUET PG 2024 registration fee increased, exam duration reduced; NTA introduces major changes

CUET PG 2024 exam will be conducted in three shifts this year. The NTA has also reduced the number of exam cities.
NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the Common University Entrance Test - Postgraduate (CUET PG 2024) registration for admission to PG courses in central universities and participating universities. CUET PG registration 2024 link has been hosted on the official website, pgcuet.samarth.ac.in.
The NTA has introduced a slew of changes in the exam pattern of CUET PG 2024 including increasing application fee, number of shifts, reducing exam duration and exam cities.
It informed applicants that the list of CUET PG participating universities will keep on increasing till the conclusion of the CUET PG application process on January 24.
The medium of CUET PG question paper will be in both English and Hindi except for language papers and MTech Higher Sciences and Acharya papers (except Hindu Studies, Baudha Dharshan and Indian Knowledge System).
CUET PG 2024 changes introduced
Applicants can check the new changes in exam pattern and application for CUET PG 2024.
Choice of papers - The NTA has reduced the number of papers candidates are allowed to appear in. Last year, applicants were allowed to choose a maximum of 20 test paper codes in all. However, now candidates will be able to choose only four paper codes.
Number of questions - The number of questions have been reduced from 100 to 75.
CUET PG application fee - The application fee and additional test fees have been increased for all categories. General candidates will have to pay an extra Rs 600 for appearing in additional test papers, while other category candidates will have to pay Rs 500.

Exam duration - The total time duration given to students to complete the CUET PG last year was 2 hours, while this year the entrance exam will be held for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Number of shifts - Unlike last year, the NTA will hold the exam in three shifts. Shift 1 from will be held from 9 am to 10.45 am, shift 2 from 12:45 pm to 2:30 pm and shift 3 will be conducted from 4:30 pm to 6:15 pm.
Exam cities - The NTA will conduct the CUET exam 2024 in 324 cities across India and abroad this year. However, the exam was held in 337 last year. CUET PG will be conducted in 24 cities abroad this year as well.
