Download NowNEW DELHI : The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG candidates as well as college professors are alleging “major mistakes” in CUET UG 2023 answer key. Students, teachers, and parents accused the National Testing Agency (NTA) of “making money” by providing wrong answers for even basic questions and collecting challenge fees. NTA released the provisional answer key of CUET UG 2023 on June 29 and today is the last date to raise objections against it. Candidates will have to pay Rs 200 per question challenged.

A professor of Delhi University’s Shyam Lal College Samrendra Kumar argued that NTA has given wrong answers for even common questions. He explained how questions on the founder of Indian army and European Union flag have been answered wrongly by NTA. “Similarly another question "which country has left the European Union", has been answered in USA, while even a common sense person can understand how the USA can be a member of the European union country? If someone challenges only these six questions then he has to deposit Rs 1200,” he argued.

Kumar went on to say that the Hindi answer key too has 15 wrong answers in the answer key. “NTA will have to pay around Rs 5k to correct their correct answer after the test, then they will get their correct answer marks. That means the mistake of NTA, students will compensate further. What if this is not open robbery that NTA itself is collecting it by giving wrong answers,” the professor said and asked NTA to rectify answers on their level and then issue answer key.
Students also took to Twitter and complained about the “silly mistakes” of NTA and alleged “business tricks”.
A student said in a tweet, “I have 5-6 questions correct in my test but it is showing wrong according to the provisional answer key(it is about only one subject), and the cost for challenging 1 questions is 200 . what a good way of robbing students.”
