NTA has rescheduled UGC NET exam in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh to December 12 for three subjects due to cyclone JAWAD.

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed and rescheduled the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) exam to December 12 due to cyclone JAWAD. Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be held on December 5.
“Due to the red alert issued in the states of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh for cyclone JAWAD for December 4 2021, UGC-NET December 2020 and June 2021 examination to be held on December 5 has been rescheduled,” said an official notification from NTA.

The exam has been rescheduled for three subjects - Odia in Shift 1, Telugu and Social Work in shift 2. The centres where the exam has been deferred are Bhubaneswar, Gunupur, Cuttack, Berhampur (Ganjam) Puri and Vishakhapattnam.
UGC NET exam will be conducted for all the other cities of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and other states according to the schedule.
After a delay of 17 months, the UGC NET for the December 2020 and June 2021 merged cycle began on November 20. There were nearly 12.67 lakh candidates who registered for this cycle. UGC NET exam 2021 was conducted at 177 cities across 338 exam centres in two shifts for three hours on the first day.
“To ensure a fair and smooth conduct of the day 1 examination, there were 1,783 jammers and 8142 CCTV cameras deployed across all centres which helped the national and regional coordinators appointed by NTA, to virtually observe the entire administration of the examination,” the notice added.

The UGC NET Examination 2021 is conducted for 81 papers to determine the eligibility of assistant professor recruitment and/ or junior research fellowship.
NTA UGC NET exam dates 2021 are November 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 29, 30 and December 1,3, 4 and 5. All the candidates who have registered for the UGC NET exam for the June 2021 and December 2020 session can download the admit card at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
