Day 2: JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 - Live Updates

NEW DELHI, JANUARY 10: The National Testing Agency is conducting the second day of JEE Main 2019 paper 1. The entrance examination is being held completely in computer-based mode. JEE Main is being held twice a year for the very first time in history. As per the recent notification of NTA, 9,29,198 candidates have registered for Paper I will is going to be conducted in 467 centres. Afternoon Shift

12:07 PM - Students are slowly arriving for the second shift of JEE Main 2019 Paper I (January 10)

12:13 PM - A crowd of students has built up outside the gate

12:57 PM - Gate has opened for the first round

12:58 PM - Gate closes for a moment and opens again 

2:01 PM - A student forgot to bring photos and rushes out to get them. 

2:02 PM - Latecomers are slowly pouring in

2:05 PM - Some candidates have arrived at the wrong centre\

2:11 PM - Guards calling on remaining candidates to enter the venue as gates will close any moment now

2:16 PM - Gate is closed for the afternoon session

5:16 PM - Parents waiting outside the gate for the end of second shift

5:30 PM - Afternoon session of exam concludes

Forenoon Shift

7:15 AM - Students are arriving with their parents at the centre

7:21 AM - Checking of roll number at the centre is being done by the candidates who have arrived.

7:25 AM - A student is reading the instructions which have been put up at the centre

7:37 AM - Guard announces that only admit card, ID and two photos are allowed inside exam hall.

7:38 AM - Gate has opened

7:30 AM - Gate closed temporarily

7:40 AM - Gate open and students start moving in 

7:47 AM - Guards announcing that anyone apart from the candidates should move away from the gate

8:27 AM - Heavy traffic and everything has come to standstill. Latecomers may suffer

8:54 AM - Guards announce that the gate is about to be closed.

8:59 AM - Students rushing to enter the examination hall

9:06 AM - Last minute entries while one examinee arrives at the wrong gate

9:07 AM - Security announcing about the gates closing

9:09 AM - Dying moments. The guard has shooed away the parents asking them to come after 12.30 PM.

9:11 AM - Another candidate coming to the wrong gate. The guard has accommodated her by showing her the shorter route.

9:13 AM - Parents having a heated debate with the guards. About allowing candidates from far-flung areas to enter late.

9:19 AM - Another half of parents are dissing out at the guards. Saying entry time has long passed. It is only fair that they won't mind if the competition is between fewer candidates

9:20 AM - Gates are finally closed

9:21 AM - One candidate has arrived after gates have closed. Parents urging to let him in but he is not allowed

9:30 AM - JEE Main 2019 January 10 Paper I has commenced

12:30 PM - Gate has opened after the exam has ended

12:35 PM - Parents lined up to receive their children
