NEW DELHI, MAY 28: The University of Delhi will most possibly start the admission process for upcoming academic session from May 30. The DU 2019 admission process will go on for a fortnight. Last year, the university released the application forms of DU on May 15. However, this year there is a delay in the commencement of Delhi University admission process. Earlier, the admissions forms were expected to be released by the mid of April, which was then rescheduled many times by the varsity. The cut off list of DU admission 2019 will be released around a week after the registration process is over.
Speaking to a news agency, Dr. Rajeev Gupta, The Chairperson of Delhi University Admission Committee said “ We are trying to incorporate new tech-based initiatives for making the varsity’s admissions process smoother for students. This is why it is causing a bit of delay.“ The officials also said that the DU admission portal will display details including the seat availability, number of applicants and how fast the seats are filling.
The university is also planning to introduce an 'Online Calculator' to simplify the process of calculating Best of Four Subjects, thereby making the process much smoother.
Another thing which is causing a delay in the DU admission process is the approval of NTA (National Testing Agency) over the matter of conducting the entrance exam for UG programmes. The agency is yet to take a final decision on this matter.
Taking into account the growing concerns of the aspirants and their parents, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student organization wrote a letter to the university asking the delay in the admission process. The organization has also urged the varsity to commence the process briskly.
