Delhi government announces winter vacation for schools from January 1 to 6

NEW DELHI: Delhi govenment has announced that the schools will remain close from January 1 to January 6 for a winter break. Earlier, the winter vacation for academic session 2023-24 was scheduled from January 1 to January 15.

However, the government had given early winter break to students due to severe air pollution from November 9 to 18, 2023.

"In order to ensure that our students are not adversely affected due to the poor air quality in Delhi, a portion of Winter Vacation was observed from 09.11.2023 to 18.11.2023", said the circular from the Directorate of Education.

Due to this, the winter vacations will now be observed from January 1 (Monday) to January 6 (Saturday).

The Delhi government has directed all the school heads to disseminate this information among all the stakeholders including teaching, non- teaching staff, students and parents through SMC, phone calls or other suitable means of communication.
