Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University to host Delhi’s first-ever skill competition

Education minister Manish Sisodia announced on Tuesday that DSEU will hold the state-level competition in Delhi.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) will host the first-ever state-level skill competition in Delhi, education minister Manish Sisodia said on social media.

Sisodia announced on social media that DSEU will conduct Delhi’s first-ever skill competition that will help identify and prepare participants for an international competition known as the “Olympics of skills” slated to be held in Shanghai in 2022.

Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University will host the first ever state level skill competition in Delhi. This competition will identify and prepare contenders for World Skill International Competition also known as Olympics of skills to be held in Shanghai 2022,” Sisodia said.

According to the official website of DSEU, the World Skills International competition is held once every two years. Over 1,300 contestants below the age of 23, compete for gold, silver and bronze medals, in over 50 skills.

“WorldSkills India is an initiative of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship which has been leading India’s participation at WorldSkills International competitions since 2011,” DSEU’s official website said.

The DSEU launched this year and is in the process of admitting its first batch of students.
