NEW DELHI: Delhi University has proposed the construction of a new hostel in Dhaka complex of the university for accommodating 700 girl students under the economically weaker section (EWS) category.
The proposal will be discussed in the Executive Council meeting on March 25.

HEFA is a central government initiative to grant infrastructure loans to institutions including central universities and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Established institutions would have to pay the principal amount while the government paid the interest.
The university, in one of the official documents, commented that it has been receiving “very limited allocation for creation of capital assets for the past three to five years” and that the university is “not able to develop any infrastructure” within the limited allocation.
