Delhi University holds 'job mela' to provide internships, placements to students

NEW DELHI: Delhi University’s central placement cell is set to launch a placement cum internship fair under the aegis of the office of the Dean students’ welfare from April 7, 2022, onwards. The “job mela” intends to provide internship opportunities to first and second-year undergraduate students and placement opportunities for final year undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The University of Delhi job mela will be held from April 7 to April 9 in a blended mode as per the requirements of the participating companies. The initiative is being organised as part of the 15th anniversary of the DU central placement cell, said a statement from the Delhi University.

There are around 18,000 students from 80 DU colleges and various postgraduate departments of the university who have registered on the DU placement portal. The central placement cell at the Delhi University intends to provide opportunities of both undergraduate and postgraduate students studying in various courses.

In a statement, the DU central placement cell sought support from corporates to provide placements to the students. University of Delhi has also invited NGOs, research organisations and public sector undertakings of the government to participate in the placement process. It has asked the corporates, NGOs and PSUs to register online at the DU placement portal at placement.du.ac.in to conduct placement, internship and capacity building drives.
