Notably, in May, the proctorial board held a meeting with the students, where the latter requested the vice chancellor to allow them to sit for the exams and assessment.

The university VC, then, ordered the proctorial board to conduct a probe into the matter. Later, in view of the student’s appeal, the university issued conditional permission to participate in the exams for the winter semester only.

“This decision was made solely in the interest of preventing irreparable academic loss, and did not imply closure of the disciplinary or investigative process. Following the completion of the Winter Semester 2025 and pending the outcome of the ongoing inquiry and investigation, the University has decided to continue the suspension of the students,” the university said in an official statement.
