NEW DELHI: The Delhi University has announced the DU first merit list 2022 for admission in UG programmes on October 19. Earlier, the DU first merit list was scheduled to be out on October 18 . DU first seat allotment list 2022 is available on the official website of DU CSAS - ugadmission.uod.ac.in or du.ac.in.

The DU 1st merit list includes details of the candidate's rank and the seats allotted to them based on the programmes and colleges they have applied to. Candidates can accept the allotted seat at Delhi University from 5 pm, October 19 till 4:59 pm, October 21 . If a candidate fails to accept their allotted seat within the stipulated time, the allotment will stand cancelled.
Once a seat has been allocated in a particular round, candidates have to 'accept' the seat before the last date. The concerned college will then check the eligibility of the candidate and verify the documents uploaded. The window for approval of DU UG applications by the college will be open on October 19 at 10 am and will close on October 22 at 5 PM.

Students can follow the steps given below to download the DU UG first merit list 2022 from the DU admission portal.
“In order to optimally fill the seats, the University will be allocating 30% extra seats for the SC/ST candidates in the first CSAS allocation round,” Delhi University informed.
The Delhi University admission 2022 will be done through the marks obtained in the CUET UG exam. The DU Merit list 2022 will be prepared solely on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in CUET.

Seat allocation for DU 2022 will take place in three rounds, spot round, (if any seats remain vacant) new rounds will be introduced. Seat allocation will take into account a variety of factors including marks obtained in the CUET 2022 examination, available seats, filled preferences, and other factors. After the announcement of the DU seat allotment result, candidates are provided with an option to accept or refuse the allotted seat.

In case more spot rounds are necessary to fill vacant seats, the university may announce more after the release of the merit list against the spot round on November 20. “It has been observed from the registration statistics that there are ample opportunities for the candidates belonging to SC and ST category to take admission in the University of Delhi,” the university said earlier.
DU registrar Vikas Gupta confirmed the university will announce the first list of seats for admission to undergraduate programmes by 5 pm today, October 19.
Tie-breaking decisions are based on a combination of the following: the percentage of aggregate marks in the best three subjects in Class 12; the percentage of aggregate marks in the best four subjects in Class 12; the percentage of aggregate marks in the best five subjects in Class 12, as well as the candidate's age.

As soon as candidates are allocated seats, they must accept them immediately. They shouldn't wait for the next round. Participation in the next round can only be guaranteed if a candidate accepts the allocation granted in the first round. In case of inactivity on the candidate’s part, he/she will be out of the admission process and his/her seat will be allotted to someone else.

The chances of admission to Delhi University are equal for all students who wish to apply.
Those who score better in CUET may have a better chance of getting into DU 2022.
In case two students score similar marks in CUET DU admission test, the Class 12th marks will be used for DU admission.
Delhi University will provide 30% extra admissions to SC, ST candidates.
According to the DU academic calendar, classes for all first-year undergraduate courses will begin on November 2, 2022. From February 17 to 26, 2023, students will take practical examinations. Immediately following this, theory exams will be conducted between February 27 and March 15, 2023.
In total, 22.5% of seats are reserved for SC/ST (15% for SC and 7.5% for ST).
OBC category candidates are entitled to 27% of the seats.
For candidates who belong to the EWS category, 10% of the seats are reserved.
In Minority Colleges 50% of the seats are reserved for Minority candidates.
For admissions to ECA and Sports supernumerary seats a weightage of 25% will be given to CUET score and 75% to certificates/trials/performances.

During the online approval process, college may raise a query for the candidate. It is mandatory for the candidates to respond to the query within the stipulated time. To respond to the queries, the candidate will have to log in to the DU CSAS portal using the CUET application number and password.

The first DU Merit list will be out on October 19. The second DU merit list 2022 is scheduled to be out on October 30, while the DU 3rd merit list will be released on November 10.
Once the DU cut-off 2022 is released, candidates will have to accept the provisionally allotted seat. After this, the college will verify the documents and approve the allotted seat. After the online approval by the college, candidates will have to submit the admission fee to conform their seat.
The Delhi High Court on September 12 asked St Stephen's College to follow the DU admission policy, as per which 100 per cent weightage has to be given to the CUET score while granting admission to non-minority students in its UG courses. however, the college wants to give only 85 per cent weightage to CUET and 15 per cent to interviews for admitting students across categories.

Delhi University will start the performance trials for DU UG admissions through the extra curricular activities quota (ECA) from Today.
The trials will be conducted on October 19 and 20 for creative writing, yoga and digital media, fine arts on October 19 and 21, music (instrument) on October 19, music on October 18, quiz on October 25 and divinity on October 19. For dance, trials are scheduled on October 19, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26 and 27, debate on October 19 20, 21, 22, 25 and 26, music (vocal) on October 19, 20, 21, 22, 25 and 26, and theatre on October 21, 22, 25 and 26.

The decision was taken after the Supreme Court said that it will hear the plea by St. Stephen’s College on Wednesday, the report further added.
The total number of applicants in DU UG admission has declined by nearly 40 per cent this year, however, the percentage of applicants from CBSE has gone up by nearly 1.5 per cent as against last year. The total number of applications from the Kerala Board has dropped from 4,824 to 1,847. The percentage of candidates from Bihar seeking DU admission has doubled this year.

Delhi University will open a mid-entry window on November 5 for candidates who failed to apply for admission to undergraduate programmes within stipulated time.
Admissions to Delhi University UG programmes is beign held through the CSAS. The admissions will be conducted in three phases - CSAS 2022 application form submission, selection of programmes and filling of preferences, and seat allocation and admission.
The respective college will check the following criteria while approving the application -
1. Minimum eligibility
2. Program-specific eligibility
3. Subject mapping: DU will consider only those CUET subjects in which the candidate has passed Class 12.
4. Validity and authenticity of documents/certificates submitted by the candidate.
'Allocated Seat' refers to a unique combination of Program + College. For example, a B.A. (Hons.) in Psychology at College X is referred to as an 'Allocated Seat'.
