DU Admission 2024: UG CSAS second seat allocation today; tie-breaking rule

NEW DELHI: The University of Delhi (DU) will declare the seat allocation for the second round of Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) UG 2024 for admission to undergraduate programmes today, August 25, at 5 pm. Candidates who participated in round 2 of DU UG admission 2024 through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2024 will be able to check the allocated seats on the official website, ugadmission.uod.ac.in.

As per the DU CSAS UG 2024 round 2 schedule, seat allotted candidates will have to accept the allocated seats between August 25 and August 27.

During the first round of allocations, the university informed that it has introduced a new feature this year through which applicants will be able to view the details of cut-offs and ranks that determine the allotment of a seat to the candidate as per their category and quota. DU will display the common rank, cut-off rank, programme-specific CUET 2024 score and cut-off score for all the programmes selected by the candidates.

DU Admission 2024: Tie-breaking rule

In case two or more candidates possess the same CUET score for a programme and college combination, the university will use the following criteria to break the tie.

• Candidate with a higher percentage of aggregate marks in the best three subjects of Class 12 will be given preference
• Candidate with a higher percentage of aggregate marks in the best four subjects of Class 12 will be given preference.
• Candidate with a higher percentage of aggregate marks in the best five subjects of Class 12 will be given preference.
• Candidate having an earlier date of birth (as mentioned in the Class 10 certificate) will be given preference.
• Alphabetical ordering of the names of the candidate.

65,843 students secured seats in the UG programmes of DU in the first admission round. Till August 21 midnight, a total of 18,478 candidates selected ‘freeze’ option to think about the allotment while 43,515 opted for seat upgradation.

This year, DU aims to fill 71,600 seats in various affiliated colleges. The admission is being conducted through CSAS portal which included three phases – phase 1 for registration, phase 2 for filling course and college combination, and phase 3 for seat allocation. The university received over 2.45 lakh applications while more than 1.85 lakh applicants completed the second phase.
