DU: ‘Nearly 2 lakh papers submitted by students from August 10’

NEW DELHI : The University of Delhi, or Delhi University (DU), on Thursday, said that students have successfully submitted nearly two lakh open book exam papers over the past four days.
The university said that 1,10,085 regular papers and 1,54,142 Non Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB) and School of Open Learning (SOL) papers have been attempted in the open book exams as of August 13.
As per DU’s cumulative data, 82,496 papers were submitted by regular students and 1,08,846 papers were submitted by students of NCWEB and SOL from August 10 when the exams began. However, DU’s statement does not give the number of students who have attempted exams or even the total number of students who were eligible to write the final-year exams.
DU: Open Book Exams
Delhi University, in a notification said: In the last four days, students have successfully attempted and submitted their answer scripts on the OBE portal of DU. Some of our students, who at present are in remote or far-flung areas have submitted their answer scripts via the option of email available to them. Students with special needs have also been given the option to send answer scripts by email.
“Cumulative data shows that the number of papers attempted by regular, NCWEB students and SOL is 1,10,085 and 1,54,142 respectively on the OBE portal. The answer scripts submitted by regular, NCWEB students and SOL students are 82,496 and 1,08,846 respectively on the OBE portal,” the university added.
Delhi University (DU) open book examinations started on August 10 after it got the High Court nod to conduct open book examinations, despite protests from students and teachers citing safety issues amid COVID-19 pandemic.
The exams have been marred with a host of problems from registration issues to technical errors.
