DU senior professor Kumud Sharma appointed vice-chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidya

Her appointment as the vice-chancellor of MGAHV will be for a period of five years.

NEW DELHI: In a significant academic development, Kumud Sharma a senior professor in the Department of Hindi at the University of Delhi (DU), has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya (MGAHV), Wardha.

Her appointment as the VC of Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya will be for a period of five years from the date on which she enters upon his office or until she attains the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier.

"I am directed to convey that the Hon'ble President of India, in her capacity as the Visitor of Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya (MGAHV). Wardha is pleased to appoint Prof. Kumud Sharma, HoD and Senior Professor, Dio Hindi, University of Delhi as the Vice Chancellor of MGAHV, Wardha as per Statute 2 of the MGAHV Act 1997, as amended from time to time, for a term of five years from the date on which she enters upon her office, or until she attains the age of seventy years, whichever is earlier", the official notice read.

The terms and conditions of Kumud Sharma’s service as vice-chancellor will be in accordance with the provisions outlined in the Act, Statutes, and Ordinances of MGAHV.

As vice-chancellor, Sharma will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the university, overseeing its academic policies, research initiatives, and ensuring overall administrative excellence.
