NEW DELHI: The School of Open Learning (SOL) at Delhi University has invited applications from candidates for the Center for Innovative Skill-Based Courses (CISBC) from February 16. The CISBC initiative aims to revolutionise skill development opportunities for learners across diverse backgrounds.

Short-term courses such as cyber security, tax assessment, English proficiency and motor driving are available in Center for Innovative Skill-Based Courses (CISBC). The DU SOL short-term registrations will close on March 15, 2024. The commencement of courses will be from April 2, 2024.

Giving detailed information about skill-based certificate courses, SOL Director Payal Mago said that these valuable skill-based certificate courses will provide an opportunity to enhance their employability to all. These courses are available to all as per the needs of different individuals and jobs.

Under CISBC, a total of 30 courses like English Proficiency, GST Executive, Cyber Security, Tax Assessment, Motor Driving, Medical Transcription, Radio Jockeying, Bakery and Confectionery, A/C and Refrigerator Repair, Beauty and Hair Make-up have been included. Payal Mago said that the courses are effective and job-oriented which will provide practical skills relevant to current job demands.

These are budget-friendly and accessible and affordable courses for a wide range of people. Certificates for these courses will be jointly recognised by Delhi University and national/international organisations, which will further enrich the curriculum vitae of the students.

For courses having fees above Rs 1000 on completion of the batch size of 40-50 students 10% supernumerary seats shall be given to the Economically Weaker Section on subsidised rates (available after screening of the candidates).
