NEW DELHI: The education technology (ed-tech) sector in India has provided more than 75,000 jobs in India in the last five years, says the Indian EdTech Consortium (IEC), which functions under the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI). The data collected by the IEC also reveals that more than 50,000 professionals are working in the Indian ed-tech sector.

The IAMAI is a not-for-profit organization that aspires to expand the online and mobile added services sector in India. It intends to solve the hurdles in the digital sector. The IAMAI has a membership of around 350 Indian and foreign companies.

“The accelerated employment opportunity created by EdTech, which allows Indian professionals to create value globally is particularly evident in the context of COVID-19 induced job losses in 2020,” said a statement from the IAMAI.

The IEC data claims that the ed-tech sector has created a significant number of job opportunities in India. According to the statement, the ed-tech sector has also helped people get jobs by offering training and upskilling courses.

He is also the chair of the IEC.
