EROS Group felicitates 25 girl students with Abhilasha Scholarship

NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 27: The flagship scholarship scheme of the EROS Group, Abhilasha Scholarship has this year selected around a hundred girl students. Today 25 girls out of the 100 selected for the scholarship were felicitated at a ceremony held at EROS Corporate Tower.
The scholarship is awarded to meritorious girl students to enable them to continue their education. They were given a cash award of Rs. 5,000 each.
EROS Group received around 2,800 applications from all over India, out of which 100 girl students were selected for the scholarship.
The scholarship is aimed at girl students from government schools, from disadvantaged backgrounds, and who have scored 75% or above in their exams. The scholarship has been established as part of the Group’s continued efforts to provide access to quality education especially, young girl students.
Speaking about this initiative, Avneesh Sood, Director, EROS Group, said “At EROS Group, we understand how important education is, especially for a girl child. We have established the Abhilasha Scholarship to enable meritorious girl students to continue their academic dreams. This is in line with the Government’s ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign. We aim to reinforce this campaign by promoting and working towards girls’ education. It will not only empower them but is also vital for the betterment of society and the nation.”
Kishore Kumar, a parent of one of the girl students, said “We are happy that EROS Group has taken such a great initiative. It was a very happy moment for my wife and me when we received a call that our daughter has been selected for the scholarship. The money will help us and encourage our daughter who has always dreamt of making it big in life. I would like to thank EROS Group for this initiative.”
