NEW DELHI: Amid the ongoing Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Mains 2025), at least eight the Forum for Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (FIITJEE) coaching centres have been shut leaving thousands of students and parents in limbo.

The closure of FIITJEE coaching centres came after several teachers resigned due to non-payment of salaries. On the other hand, parents have filed an FIR in Noida Sector 58 police station against DK Goel, the FIITJEE coaching institute head, for not refunding the money taken in advance.

Parents of JEE Main 2025 aspirants, who have enrolled in FIITKJEE coaching centres in Noida and Ghaziabad, reached the nearby police station to file an FIR. The coaching centres were shut after taking Rs 4 lakh fee from students preparing for IIT entrance exams.

The Delhi State Commission recently held that coaching institutes collecting fees for the entire course in advance can use the fees only for a particular semester. The bench was hearing a plea filed by a CAT aspirant who requested for refund of fees. The student enrolled for a 2-year programme and left the course in two months. The bench, which heard the case, instructed FIITJEE to pay Rs 1.34 lakh to the student who dropped out of the course midday.

"FIIT JEE runs a centre in Noida Sector 58, where the classes were not being conducted for two days. So, some guardians and children have come to Sector 58, Noida, police station, asking their money to be refunded if the classes are not happening anymore. We have called FIIT JEE head DK Goel to the station by 3,30 pm today. This matter will be sorted out soon," Noida DCP Ram Badan Singh told the ANI.

A month ago, the FIITJEE chief DK Goel was seen abusing his employee during a salary dispute meeting. Parent Rajiv Kumar Chaudhary, father of a JEE aspirant, said: "We are here to file an FIR against FIIT JEE today. We had paid 100% of the fees for 5 years, out of which 2 years are remaining. On Monday, we got a message from FIITJEE to shift our children to Aakash Institute. We will decide where we will teach our child. FIITJEE cannot tell us that," as per the report.
