Five Bihar Agricultural University students get job offers from IDBI Bank

NEW DELHI: The Bihar Agricultural University conducted a placement drive for its students in which IDBI Bank participated. The bank conducted a campus placement drive for final year agriculture undergraduate students of the university for the appointment of junior assistant manager (JAM). The drive was conducted as part of the IDBI Bank Campus Connect programme.

The university said that as many as 28 students participated in the placement drive, of which five students were selected. The participants had to go through a rigorous selection process, including group discussions and personal interviews. Selected candidates will get an annual package ranging from Rs 6.14 lakh to Rs 6.50 lakh.

BAU vice-chancellor DR Singh congratulated all the students who got jobs and appreciated the efforts of other participants. He also expressed his gratitude to IDBI Bank for conducting the drive. BAU student welfare director JN Srivastava and placement cell in-charge Chandan Kumar Panda were instrumental in organising the successful campus placement drive.

“This endeavour not only provides opportunities for career assessment for students but also strengthens the relationship between the university and the corporate sector,” the university said.

Bihar Agriculture University was established on August 5, 2010. It serves as a foundational and strategic agricultural institution in Bihar. It focuses on providing education at the graduate and postgraduate levels, conducting basic, strategic, applied, and adaptive research, ensuring effective technology transfer, and enhancing the capacity of farmers and extension personnel. The university comprises six academic units (five in agriculture and one in horticulture) and 12 research units across three agro-ecological zones in Bihar. Additionally, it has 22 extension units (Krishi Vigyan Kendras) under its jurisdiction.
