GATE 2019: Exam for IN, CS and AE concludes among others, Check analysis here

NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 3: IIT Madras is conducting GATE 2019 on first two weekends of February, i.e, Feb 2, 3, 9 and 10. The national level postgraduate engineering entrance exam is being conducted in online mode for 24 papers. On February 3, IIT Madras conducted GATE 2019 for 15 dispincles, namely - Aerospace Engineering (AE), Agricultural Engineering (AG), Architecture and Planning (AR), Biotechnology (BT), Ecology and Evolution (EY), Geology and Geophysics (GG), Instrumentation Engineering (IN), Mathematics (MA), Metallurgical Engineering (MT), Physics (PH), Petroleum Engineering (PE), Production and Industrial Engineering (PI), Statistics (ST), Computer Science and Information Technology (CS) and Chemical Engineering (CH).
The exam conducted in forenoon shift on February 3 for computer science paper was comparatively easy as compared to last year.More than one lakh students appeared for CS paper where some candidates found it easy while other found it moderately difficult.
As per the media reports, candidates were able to attempt most all the questions asked in the entrance exam. Moreover general aptitude section was found easy while questions from database were said to be tricky. Further, large amount of questions were asked from Programming & Data Structures and Discrete Mathematics subject.
On February 2, IIT Madras conducted GATE Paper for Life Sciences (XL), Mechanical Engineering- 1 and 2, Engineering Science (XE), Textile Engineering and Fibre Science, Mining Engineering (ME) and Chemistry (CY). According to the candidates feedback mechanical engineering paper was moderately difficult as it received mixed reaction from the students.
GATE is being conducted for admission to different M.Tech programmes which are offered at IITs as well as other institutes and recruitment to Public Sector Units. The result of GATE 2019 will be declared on March 16 in online mode.
