GATE 2020 to commence tomorrow, know exam day guidelines

New Delhi: GATE 2020 - one of the biggest engineering exam in country for PG aspirants will commence from tomorrow. The entrance exam will be conducted over 4 different days in 2 sessions each day. GATE 2020 will be conducted on February 1,2,8 and 9. A total of 8,58,030 candidates have applied for 25 GATE papers. Candidates appearing for the entrance examination must make sure that they carry their GATE admit card with them as no student will be allowed entryThis year the authorities have added a new paper of Bio medical engineering.

GATE 2020 - Exam Day Guidelines and Last Minute Preparation Tips

As per rules, candidates will be required to login to their system 20 minutes prior to the starting of the exam. The exam will, however, start at the specified time only.

Candidates will be given scribble pad for rough work. It is mandatory to write your name and registration number on the scribble pad before using it.

Along with the admit card candidates also need to carry a verifiable photo id proof like Pan Card, Passport, Voter ID, Aadhar Card, Employee ID, Driving License.

Candidates will be allowed to appear for the exam after successfully getting their credentials verified from the officials present at the exam centre.

Candidates will NOT be permitted to leave the examination hall before the end of the examination.

During the examination, a virtual scientific calculator will be available on the computer screen, which can be used for the numerical calculations.

During the examination, candidates may be checked for possession of any of the prohibited items. If the candidate is found to possess any of these items, he/she will be liable to be debarred from the examination and/or subjected to disciplinary action, which may include ban from appearing in future examinations.
The admit card of GATE 2020 was already released on January 3. Candidates those who haven’t downloaded their admit card can also download their hall ticket from the official website.
