GATE 2022 registration dates to be released soon; Exam to be held in February
IIT Kharagpur will conduct the GATE 2022 exam in online mode on February 5, 6, 12, and 13. GATE 2022 registration dates will be announced soon.
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur will soon release the GATE 2022 registration dates. IIT Kharagpur has already announced the GATE 2022 exam date. As per PTI, the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering will be conducted on February 5, 6, 12 and 13, 2021. GATE 2022 examination will be conducted over 4 days as a computer based test.

GATE 2022 application form
The authorities will soon announce the GATE 2022 application form release date. Interested candidates will have to apply for the GATE 2022 exam before the deadline. However, students will be allowed to register online after the deadline by paying a late fee. The GATE 2022 application process will include the following steps.

Earlier, various media reports said that there will be an increase in the GATE 2022 exam centres due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, the authorities have not yet announced any notification regarding an increase in the number of GATE exam centres 2022. Students will have to select their preferred exam city while filling out the GATE 2022 application form.
This year, IIT Kharagpur has increased the number of papers in the GATE exam. Two new papers namely, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, and Geomatics Engineering have been introduced. Now, the total number of GATE 2022 subjects has been increased from 27 to 29.
Apart from the increase in the number of papers, changes in GATE 2022 eligibility criteria have also been introduced. As per PTI report, eligibility criteria to appear for GATE 2022 have been expanded to include those having BDS and MPharm degrees.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national examination on the comprehensive understanding of the candidates in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering / Technology / Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in Arts, Commerce and Science. The GATE exam is conducted jointly by Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee. The organising Institute for GATE 2022 is Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur.
