The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has revised the dates for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027 registration for admission to postgraduate (PG) and doctoral programmes. The GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) will now open on August 27, 2026.
According to the revised schedule, the GATE 2027 application process will be held till September 27 and the extended registration window will close by October 5, 2026.
The engineering institute will issue the GATE 2027 city allotment notification on January 4 for GATE registered candidates.

The GATE 2027 guidelines states that it is mandatory for candidates to register for GATE through DigiLocker and before applying online, they should have to create or update their verified DigiLocker account.
The schedule does not specify the GATE 2027 admit card release date, but the examination dates have been announced.
The GATE 2027 will be conducted in three batches. The first exam will be held from February 6 to 7, the second test will take place from February 13 to 14, while the third batch will be held from February 20 to 21.
The results for PG and doctoral admissions will be declared on March 19, 2027.
