This change has been introduced because of the clash with the board examination time table announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Previously, the examination was scheduled to be held on March 30 and was then again postponed to April 4, 2019. This change of date was also introduced due to the board examination time table.
According to GSHSEB Chairman A.J Shah, the Gujarat board did wait for CBSE to announce some changes in their dates. However, since that was not done, GSHSEB had to take the final call and postpone GUJCET 2019 for the students.
GUJCET 2019 is the state level entrance examination to provide admissions into the participating engineering institutes. Registrations for the entrance examination is expected to start tentatively in the third week of February 2019. Currently, there are around 112 institutes participating in GUJCET 2019.
