Gandhi Jayanti 2023: PM Modi, IITs, universities are celebrating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

NEW DELHI: The nation is celebrating the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, also known as father of the nation, today, October 2. From prime minister Narendra Modi and union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan to universities and national institutes, everyone paid homage to the man who helped in gaining independence.
PM Modi said in a post on X, “I bow to Mahatma Gandhi on the special occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. His timeless teachings continue to illuminate our path. Mahatma Gandhi's impact is global, motivating the entire humankind to further the spirit of unity and compassion. May we always work towards fulfilling his dreams. May his thoughts enable every youngster to be the agent of change he dreamt of, fostering unity and harmony all over.”

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore remembered Gandhi’s speech and said, “Remembering Mahatma Gandhi on #GandhiJayanti2023. Gandhiji first visited IISc in 1927 and gave a speech outlining his vision for research at the Institute. He came back for another visit in 1936.”
