Haryana schools closed for Classes 9 to 12; Rajasthan postpones university exams

Haryana School Closed: Kanwar Pal Gujjar announced Haryana schools closed also for Classes 9-12. Rajasthan minister Bhanwar Singh Bhati said university exams were being deferred.
NEW DELHI: Haryana education minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar has ordered the closure of schools for Class 9 to 12 as the second wave of coronavirus hits the state. Earlier, all schools for Class 1 to 8 had been closed till April 30. The state postponed its Class 12 board exams on April 15 and cancelled the Class 10 ones.
हरियाणा शिक्षा मंत्री श्री कंवरपाल ने कहा कि कोरोना के बढते मामलों की वजह से नौवीं से बारहवीं तक की कक्षाएं भी 30 अप्रैल तक बंद रहेंगी. पहली से आठवीं कक्षा तक स्कूलों को पहले ही 30 अप्रैल तक बंद किया जा चुका है.

Meanwhile, the Rajasthan education minister also announced a “complete holiday” on Saturday for all public and private educational institutions in the state. The decision has come in line with the weekend curfew that will come in effect from 6 pm on Friday till 5 am on Monday.

Further, all examinations of all state and self-funded universities of the state have been postponed till further orders in Rajasthan. The minister of higher education (independent charge) Bhanwar Singh Bhati tweeted: “Keeping in view the rapid spread of infection due to the second wave of Kovid-19 in our country and state, all types of examinations of all state and self-funded universities of the state have been postponed till further orders.”

Over a dozen states across India including Maharashtra, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh have closed schools after an alarming rise in coronavirus cases.
