NEW DELHI:
The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has denied reports that it is attempting to poach Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) faculty members. Earlier,
The Wire
and
The Economic Times
had reported that IIT Delhi is sending “feelers” to JNU faculty members looking for options outside the university which has been lurching from one controversy to another.
Although it doesn't specifically mention JNU, the institute has issued a statement saying, “In reference to certain media reports doing rounds, IIT Delhi likes to clarify that the institute has never approached faculty members of specific educational institution in the country to join this premier engineering institution.”
It was reported earlier by
The Economic Times
that several distinguished JNU faculty members in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects would be keen to join the institute.
IIT Delhi has stated that all the recruitments are done through an open advertisement process, teachers and researchers of advanced standing in other institutions are eligible and their applications are considered at par.
