HP PAT 2026 schedule out; apply on hptechboard by May 5

The Himachal Pradesh Board of Technical Education has started accepting applications for Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) 2026. Eligible candidates can apply for the HP PAT 2026 on the official website, hptechboard.com, by May 5. The HP board will hold the HP PAT 2026 on May 17.

The HP PAT exam 2026 will be held from 10 am to 11 pm at 29 centres across the state. The board will not accept any request for a change in the exam centre allotted to the candidates.

Candidates belonging to the general category will be required to pay an entrance fee of Rs 750, and other applicants will have to submit Rs 500.

The HP PAT 2026 exam pattern includes four sections – maths, physics, chemistry and English, comprising 150 questions. Students will be given four marks for every correct answer one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

The schedule for HP PAT 2026 is as follows

HP PAT is conducted once a year for admission to affiliated Polytechnic institutes of Himachal Pradesh approved by the All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) and registered ITIs, which are approved by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).

HP PAT 2026: Eligibility, Counselling

As per the HP PAT eligibility criteria, candidates must have passed Class 10 with a minimum of 35% marks in aggregate from any recognised board. Students appearing for the final exam can also apply for the entrance test; however, their candidature will be cross-examined during the physical reporting.

The HP PAT 2026 merit list will be prepared based on the marks secured in the exam. As per the official PAT brochure, after the HP PAT results 2026 are declared, candidates will be able to fill out their course preferences and institutions. The preferences entered will be editable for the HP PAT counselling 2026 round 2.
