HPBOSE set to roll out single syllabus for Class 10 in government schools

Download NowThe Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) will soon introduce the “one school, one syllabus” scheme for Class 10 students from the upcoming academic year. The new scheme aims to reduce academic stress and improve learning outcomes among students.
According to ANI media reports, under the new scheme, all government schools in the state will adopt a uniform teaching schedule and will ensure that the same chapters are covered during each quarter across institutions.
Additionally, the HPBOSE board will also divide the syllabus into quarters and conduct quarterly exams, including both subjective and objective questions. Marks secured from these exams will be used for the final assessment.

HPBOSE chairman Rajesh Sharma said the new scheme will ease students’ academic burden, help those who transfer between districts, and reduce dependence on coaching by improving preparation for competitive exams through MCQ-based learning.
He added that the board will oversee the implementation of the new scheme across schools. Sharma also highlighted that HPBOSE aims to become the country’s first board to fully implement the National Education Policy (NEP) , while also working to improve its national education ranking.
HPBOSE has announced the dates for HP board Class 10 and 12 exams 2026 . Himachal Pradesh board Class 10 exams 2026 will be held from March 3 to 28, while Class 12 paper will be held from March 3 to April 1. HPBOSE board exams 2026 will be conducted in a single shift from 9:45 am to 1:00 pm.
