HPCET 2020 exam cancelled; application form to be available from June 22

NEW DELHI: Himachal Pradesh Technical University has released the official brochure for admissions under HPCET 2020. The authorities will open the HPCET 2020 application form submission process June 22 and the last date of application is July 31. Interested candidates can now apply in online mode before the deadline.
As per the brochure, HPCET 2020 will not be conducted this year. The admission to B.Tech programmes offered by the university will be done on the basis of JEE Main and 10+2 examination scores. The admission to the first 50% of the seats will be done on the basis of merit/rank/score obtained by the candidates in JEE Main 2020 and the remaining 50% seats will be filled up on the basis of merit of the 10+2 examination.
The minimum percentage of marks to seek admission to B. Tech degree course on the basis of JEE Main NTA score is 15 for General category candidates and 10 for reserved category candidates. The minimum percentage of marks by General category candidates should be 45% for admission on the basis of 10+2 marks and that for reserved category candidates must be 40%.
General candidates applying for B.E/B.Tech programmes on the basis of JEE Main scores/10+2 scores will have to pay an application fee of Rs 1,550 while reserved category candidates will be required to pay Rs 1,440. General category candidates applying on the basis of both JEE Main scores and 10+2 examination scores will have to pay an application fee of Rs 3,100 and reserved category candidates will have to pay an amount of Rs 2,800.
The admission to M.Tech programmes will be done on the basis of GATE scores and vacant seats, if any, will be filled on the basis of B.E/B.Tech marks. Candidates must have at least 50% marks in B.E/B.Tech in order to get admission on the basis of B.E/B.Tech examination. However, the minimum percentage for reserved category candidates is 45% marks.
