NEW DELHI. JANUARY 20: The mains exam of IBPS Clerk 2018 has begun in online mode. The exam is being conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) at various centres in 72 cities across India. IBPS Clerk mains exam is being conducted for the recruitment of candidates in clerical cadre at various banks under IBPS. Candidates who had qualified the preliminary exam held on December 8, 9, 15, and 16 have appeared in the mains exam of IBPS Clerk.

Only those candidates have been allowed to enter the examination hall who have brought the mains admit card along with one of the prescribed photo identity proofs - Voter ID card, Aadhaar card, Driving license, PAN card, Passport, Employee ID card, Bank passbook, University/College ID proof.

The exam contains 150 questions of 200 marks for which candidates have been given 160 minutes. Through the mains exam, candidates are being tested on their knowledge about General/Financial Awareness, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude, Quantitative Aptitude and command over General English. Candidates who will score the minimum qualifying marks in the mains exam and stand high on merit will only be shortlisted for the final recruitment.

IBPS Clerks exam is conducted for two phases - prelims and mains. Candidates who pass in the prelims exam are eligible to appear for the mains exam. The mains qualified candidates are recruited as Clerks in 19 different banks under IBPS on the basis of merit-cum-preference. IBPS 2018 exam is being conducted to fill a total of 7275 vacancies through this recruitment exam.
